The Targa Florio and the Mille Miglia

Two unmissable #ferrari Tributes in May

Maranello, 10 March 2016 – Entries have opened for the #ferrari Tribute to #targaflorio and #ferrari Tribute to #millemiglia. May looks set to be a month not to miss this year for Prancing Clients as, in an unusual move, the two events take place just a few days apart.

Off to Sicily for the centenary. The #targaflorio celebrates its centenary this year in fantastic style with an extravaganza organised by the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) that brings together all the events linked to the Madonie classic in May, the month in which the great GT race originally always took place. The Italian Rally Championship, the Historic Rally, the Regularity Trials, the Historic Speed and the #ferrari Tribute will thus all take place at the same time, from May 5 to 8. In other words, this is a truly unmissable opportunity to really live your passion for the Prancing Horse to the fullest. The invitation is open to #ferrari clients with cars from any era which will then compete in a regularity trial along the same route followed by the great drivers of the past including Juan Manuel Fangio, Arturo Merzario and Nino Vaccarella. The route winds its way through spectacular areas of the island, with both the starts and finishes amongst the most beautiful in the world, taking in the likes of the Teatro Massimo at Palermo, the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento and the extraordinary Cefalù. Entries remain open until March 31.

From Brescia to Rome and back. The Tribute to the #millemiglia, on the other hand, is being staged between May 18 and 22. This historic race, memorably described by Enzo #ferrari as “a travelling museum unique in the world” starts and finishes in Brescia with Rome as its halfway point. Now on its 34th outing as a recreation of the original #event, it will feature 22 Ferraris that have also raced in at least one edition of the original #millemiglia race. They will be flanked by the Tribute #ferrari clients who will be able to field cars from all eras in a regularity trial and have the opportunity to enjoy their Ferraris to the utmost on the panoramic roads that made motor #racing history thanks to drivers such as Clemente Biondetti, Giannino Marzotto, Luigi Villoresi, Eugenio Castellotti and Piero Taruffi. Some of the locations through which the #event passes are spectacular, not least Valeggio sul Mincio, Ferrara and Rimini in the first leg. Then of course, there is Rome, where the fleet will make a gorgeous night-time parade on day two. On the final leg, Florence, Parma and Cremona will provide food for the eyes, culminating in the finish at Brescia after a call to the circuit at Monza. Entries are open until April 11.
